STADTRADELN 2026 (May 9 – May 29, 2026)
The City of Herzogenaurach has been participating in the “STADTRADELN” (City Cycling) campaign organized by the Climate Alliance for many years. The goal is to inspire people to use bicycles for their daily commutes and to send a strong signal in favor of climate-friendly mobility—and its promotion—as well as reduced traffic congestion and a higher quality of life. Participants form teams to rack up as many cycling kilometers as possible over 21 consecutive days, while also calculating the amount of CO2 emissions saved in the process.

In 2026, “Herzo United Climate Action” took part in the campaign. Thanks to active promotion within local companies and generous sponsorship, both the number of participants and the total kilometers cycled saw a significant increase, reaching record highs. To specifically motivate young people to make their daily trips by bike, a separate ranking category for school teams was introduced for the first time. At an awards ceremony in June, the top teams and cyclists across various categories were honored; prizes included a bicycle service station, safety checks, ice cream vouchers, and other attractive rewards in recognition of their achievements.
Joint participation in STADTRADELN demonstrates how easy and fun it can be to contribute to sustainable mobility in everyday life.
