• Bavarian Energy Days 2024 – HerzoSolar Basement Tour 2024
As part of the Bavarian Energy Days 2024, the Energy Group of Herzo United Climate Action participated in the HERZOSolar Basement Tour. Visitors had the opportunity to gain exciting insights into various energy and efficiency projects in Herzogenaurach. In addition to guided tours at adidas, PUMA and Schaeffler, private households also opened their basements and showcased solutions relating to photovoltaics, energy storage and alternative heating systems. The programme was complemented by presentations on heat pumps, energy management and the economic use of solar energy. The personal exchange with hosts and insights into projects that had already been implemented made the topics tangible and practical. The event also attracted attention beyond the city limits and demonstrated the diverse ways in which climate action is already being implemented in Herzogenaurach.

• Bavarian Climate Week 2025
As part of Bavarian Climate Week 2025, the Energy Group of Herzo United once again raised awareness for climate action and renewable energy. The aim of the campaign week was to put topics such as climate protection, climate adaptation and the energy transition more prominently on the public agenda. At Herzogenaurach Town Hall, the presentation “Your Energy Transition Starts at Home” addressed topics including photovoltaics, energy management, as well as emergency and backup power solutions. In addition, Herzo Werke once again offered guided tours of the combined heat and power plant, providing fascinating insights into the local energy supply system. The event demonstrated how climate action can be implemented locally and the opportunities available to citizens to actively contribute.

• PPA Solar PV Ground-Mounted System – Herzo Base North
With the new ground-mounted solar PV system at Herzo Base North, adidas and Herzo Werke are taking another step towards renewable energy supply. The system was built north of the adidas Campus and connected directly to the company’s power grid. By using the solar power generated over the long term, adidas can almost quintuple its own photovoltaic electricity generation in Herzogenaurach. In the future, around 35% of the site’s electricity demand is expected to be covered by locally generated solar energy. At the same time, the system is expected to save around 2,300 tonnes of CO₂ annually. The initiative demonstrates how companies and local partners can work together to develop tangible solutions for climate action and regional energy supply.

• Bavarian Energy Days 2026
In Herzogenaurach, the “Herzo United Climate Action” initiative once again participated in the Bavarian Energy Days 2026 with a presentation on photovoltaic systems and heat pumps, sharing practical experiences from the planning, funding and installation of already completed projects. The initiative also offered a guided tour of the ground-mounted PV system near Haundorf. In the future, the site is also intended to make use of shallow geothermal energy, which could then be fed into the district heating network.
